Atomic Heart: New patch boosts the frame rate

Since the release in February 2023, developer Mundfish has been working continuously on the Soviet Union shooter Atomic Heart. The latest patch should please all of you who are on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X and value high frame rates.

Atomic Heart didn’t get the best ratings upon release. The shooter’s gameplay turned out to be a bit too flat for that, even if it was far removed from the feared graphic blender.

Since the release in February 2023, the developers have also been continuously improving it with patches. Version 1.4.0.0 is now available for Atomic Heart and it should be of particular interest to next-gen players. Because the update brings support for 120 frames per second on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Provided, of course, that you have a TV with HDMI 2.1.

But even apart from that, the patch brings with it some important revisions, for example it fixes some achievements. Here is the full list of changes:

visual and audio

  • Improved shadow display.
  • Fixed an issue where cartoons were missing from safe rooms.
  • Removed the binding of funiculars to FPS in the tunnels of the Vavilov complex.
  • Updated shaders.
  • In certain places, the white image was changed to static on TVs.
  • Fixed an issue with artistic subtitles – the translation is now displayed.
  • Updated first-person animations and fixed issues with character’s body showing when playing at high FOV.

Quests

  • Fixed the crashes during the Morning Express quest.
  • Icarus in the VDNH now fully levels up when loading a save where it got stuck.
  • Fixed an issue with saving the puzzle with rays.
  • Fixed subtitle display issue (freeze).

Gameplay and open world

  • Added ability to loot corpses lying in the water.
  • Improved climbing in “Corners”.
  • Added the ability to start funiculars at the entrance to the Vavilov Complex tunnels following crossing them.
  • Fixed an issue where getting stuck in collisions in some places.
  • Fixed several issues with the Mass Telekinesis ability.
  • Optimization and fixes for mob corpses.
  • Fixed an issue with health regeneration when loading a save.
