The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has warned that workers at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Kyiv are in critical condition. The Chernobyl plant was shut down during the Soviet era following a nuclear leak. There is concern that the safety system to prevent nuclear leakage may have failed due to a power outage. The plant is currently under the control of the Russian military.
