Atlético Nacional defeated Envigado Fútbol Club 1-2 for the seventh date in the I-2022 League. The purslane, without shining much, were efficient and with goals from Giovanni Moreno and Jefferson Duque from penalties, the Antioquia team clung to second place in the table, one point behind the leader Deportes Tolima. For the orange, Aldair Quintana discounted his own goal.

At minute 6, an individual play by Yaser Asprilla led to a one-on-one that goalkeeper Aldair Quintana managed to stop, who reappeared in the purslane goal. A minute later Nacional answered, but Sebastián Gómez was unable to finish off comfortably and sent the ball over the local goal.

Nacional was trying to control the ball, but it was going very long and Envigado took the opportunity to take possession of it and attack through the center with Yaser Asprilla. At minute 15, a shot by Daniel Londoño from the left sector passed near the green goal.

In the 18th minute an overflow by Dorlan Pabón from the right sector for Jefferson Duque, but the Nacional attacker was unable to define clearly. At 21, Giovanni Moreno had the first with a free kick that passed near goalkeeper Joan Parra.

Envigado saw how to hurt Nacional through the middle distance and at minute 28, a mid-distance shot by Diego Moreno controlled Quintana, but he left the rebound that Yeferson Rodallega caught, who finished off the goal and on the line Álvaro Angulo cleared the ball, saving the visitor.

At 34, Yaser Asprilla once more had the first, but his shot from medium distance and at ground level was controlled by Aldair Quintana. In the corner kick, Francisco Báez had a collision with Nacional players and the referee Kéiner Jiménez decided to admonish him. At minute 40, Daniel Londoño had another approach for Envigado, but his shot went to the right side of the visiting goal.

At minute 44 of the game, the goal came for Nacional following an incursion into the right sector by Jefferson Duque following taking advantage of a deep pass, he entered the area and following a center, Giovanni Moreno appeared in the heart of the area to head the ball and send it to the back of the net. That was the first goal of ‘Gio’ in his return to Colombian football. Both 39 in 87 games with the purslane team, since May 8, 2010 he has not scored a goal with the green shirt.

In the complementary stage, Daniel Tegüé entered Envigado instead of Yeferson Rodallega. The locals came out with a lot of momentum to attack, while Nacional had a hard time getting comfortable on the pitch.

At minute 5 and following a corner kick taken by Yaser Asprilla, Envigado tied the game with Francisco Báez, he bounced the ball off Aldair Quintana. But they would have given the Paraguayan defender a goal for giving direction to the ball, as reported by the voice of the stadium. The delay in the celebration was due to the decision made by the VAR to validate the play for the local. However, the goal was given to Aldair Quintana’s own goal.

At minute 15, Nacional used the first two changes in the match. Jarlan Barrera and Daniel Mantilla entered instead of Yeison Guzmán and Giovanni Moreno. A minute later and following a corner kick, there was a hand from Iván Rojas in the Envigado area that the referee Kéiner Jiménez did not hesitate to sanction the penalty, at minute 18, Jefferson Duque converted the foul for the goal that put them back on the front of the marker.

The ‘9’ reached 88 goals in 199 games with the purslane shirt, remaining 11 short of reaching Humberto ‘Turrón’ Álvarez and Gustavo Santa located in the third place of top scorers.

Envigado tried to react quickly through a free kick taken by Asprilla, but the ball went slightly wide. With the passing of the minutes, the game was concentrated in the center of the field, partly due to the wear and tear they had throughout the match.

At minute 30, Nacional made two changes, Alexander Mejía and Yerson Candelo came on for Sebastián Gómez and Dorlan Pabón. While in Envigado Wilder Guisao entered for Henry Mosquera. Five minutes later, Déiler Córdoba entered instead of Diego Moreno.

Five minutes from the end, both teams spent their last moment of changes, in Envigado Bryan Sinisterra entered instead of Jesús Hernández, while in Nacional Danovis Banguero entered instead of Hayen Palacios.
