Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Spanish club Atletico Madrid announced, on Monday, that it had reached a final agreement with its counterpart Barcelona, according to which French striker Antoine Griezmann will move to the team, on a permanent deal until 2026.
Atlético Madrid said, through its Twitter account: “Antoine Griezmann signed his new contract, as a Rojiblancos player at Civitas Stadium.”
Press reports said that the value of the deal amounted to $20 million, in addition to $4 million in additions.
The French national team striker was loaned to Atletico Madrid for two seasons, from the ranks of the “Catalan team”.
And the “Euro Sport” website said that the first loan offer between the two teams included a clause stating a permanent purchase option of $ 39 million, if he played half the season’s minutes with “Rojiblancos”, but this led to a controversial situation, as coach Diego Simeone was involved Griezmann in the matches following 60 minutes.
