ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – After almost 30 years away, the Atlanta Hawks returned home to Peachtree TV (WPCH) and Atlanta News First (WANF) for the first of 10 games hosted on local broadcast television.

The Hawks home game against Indiana on Friday, January 12th, 2024, beat the season average ratings of every other NBA game on ComScore-rated cable in Atlanta so far this season; out-delivering game averages on TNT (+73%), ESPN (+69%), and ESPN 2 (+3,530%).

The broadcast also won the night head-to-head against two games at the same time-period on cable by +153% and +108% respectively. It was also the highest ComScore-rated Friday night game of the season and the 4th highest ComScore-rated regular season game of the 23-24 season in the Atlanta market.

The Atlanta Hawks pregame show featured Atlanta News First Sports Director Baillie Burmaster.(WANF)

“It’s so exciting to see so many people enjoyed the Hawks return to broadcast television,” said VP/General Manager Erik Schrader. “Friday nights are a very busy night in Atlanta and it’s clear that a lot of people chose to spend it watching the Hawks over free television! Hopefully last Friday was the first of what will become a family tradition over the next few months.”

The Friday night slate of games includes home and road matchups, highlighted by marquee matchups against the Miami Heat (1/19), Dallas Mavericks (1/26), Phoenix Suns (2/2), and Philadelphia 76ers (2/9).

Peachtree TV will also broadcast the Hawks vs Pelicans game on Sunday, March 10, 2024. For the full broadcast schedule please visit AtlantaNewsFirst.com/Hawks. For the full Atlanta Hawks season schedule please visit nba.com/hawks/schedule.
