ATLANTA — Orlando Arcia drove in the go-ahead run as part of a four-run sixth inning, Bryce Elder overcame his worst inning of the season and the Atlanta Braves beat the Atlanta Braves 6-4 Tuesday night. New York Mets.
Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso each added two-run homers in the third, but Elder (4-0) righted his work with three scoreless innings. New York (30-31) thus lost its fourth straight game, the worst streak it has had this season.
The Mets led 4-1 before Carlos Carrasco gave up three runs in the sixth. Arcia’s RBI single off reliever Drew Smith deflected off Eduardo Escobar’s glove to give Atlanta a 5-4 lead.
Sean Murphy doubled and scored the tying run on Marcell Ozuna’s double off Smith (3-2).
Carrasco allowed six hits, including a second-inning home run off Ozzie Albies. He also received four runs in just over five innings.
For the Mets, Puerto Rican Lindor went 3-1 with one run scored and two produced. The Dominican Starling Marte 4-0. Venezuelans Escobar 3-0, Omar Narváez 2-1 with a run scored.
