Athletics: Andreas Kramer misses Diamond League competition in Lausanne: “Caught a virus after the Olympics”

Andreas Kramer did not make it to the Olympic final of 800 meters in Paris – this as he finished second last in his semi-final heat.

The Swede, who was supposed to do his first competition, since the Olympic Games, on Thursday has therefore now withdrawn from the Diamond League competition.

– I got a virus after the Olympics and have been sick to my stomach. I basically haven’t been able to train anything, that’s why we chose to stand over Lausanne, he says to SVT Sport.

It is uncertain whether the disease will affect competitions in the future, but the 27-year-old hopes to be able to stand at the starting line in the near future.

– The hope is that I will be on the starting line on Sunday.

On Sunday there is another Diamond League competition, in Silesia, Poland, which SVT broadcasts from 3.30 p.m.
