The final speed competition V&K Teed One Mile Challenge 2024 will be held on Saturday at the Kilts airport near Haapsalu, which will bring together motor sportsmen from three countries.

The race is to reach the highest final speed from a standing start to the end of a distance of one mile or 1609 meters. It is the fastest motor sports competition in the Baltics, where Aleksandr Ljahh on the Nissan Skyline GTR has set a record of 402 kilometers per hour in 2020.

More than 80 speed-hungry people from Estonia, Latvia and Finland are coming to compete. Among them is the mentioned record holder Aleksandr Ljahh, who is trying to beat his record. Maksim Zolotarjov, the winner of the year before last, will also try to improve the result of 337 km/h with a Ferrari SF90.

A result exceeding 300 km/h can be expected from more than a dozen competitors. Numerous tuned and exotic cars are coming to the track, which can be seen up close in the pit area.

The measurement takes place in three competition classes, special prizes are awarded to the fastest female competitor and the participant with a diesel car. Competitions are also held at a distance of half a mile, which is rapidly gaining popularity in the world, as it is increasingly difficult to create suitable competition conditions for the ever-increasing top speeds.

Races start at 12:30 p.m.
