A 22-year-old tourist was decapitated by the blades of a helicopter in front of his friends and parents, as he tried to take a selfie by getting as close as possible to the device. Jack Fenton had just landed from Mykonos in Greece when he was beheaded as he walked behind the Bell 407 helicopter whose engines were still running at 6:20 p.m. in Athens.

Greek investigators said Jack left the helicopter with his three friends James Yeabsley, 19, Max Savage, 20, and Jack Stanton Gleaves, 20. But following disembarking from the chopper, Jack reportedly returned unescorted to the tarmac where the chopper was still operating and ignored stop warnings from staff asking him not to approach so close.

“Witnesses we spoke to said he had a phone presumably to take a selfie and walked quickly towards the chopper, defying the ground crew who were yelling at him to stop,” the witnesses said. .
