Atena’s Arrival: A Journey Through Stormy Skies and Impending Impact

A 112 message was sent to the residents of Volos and other areas of Magnesia due to the extreme weather conditions that will also affect Eastern Thessaly. Accordingly, alerts via 112 were sent to Achaia, Ilia, Aetoloakarnania and Arcadia, warning of dangerous phenomena.

The weather forecast

Heavy rain and storms are forecast until the midday hours in the Ionian Islands, Epirus, western Sterea and western Peloponnese, where the effects are expected to be particularly intense until the morning hours, from dawn to late afternoon in western Macedonia and Thessaly. From the midday hours in central and eastern Macedonia and the Sporades and from the evening in Thrace and the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

In the Ionian, the continental and gradually in the rest of the island country local rains and sporadic storms. The effects will be locally strong until midday in the Ionian Islands, Epirus, western Sterea and western Peloponnese, from dawn to late afternoon in western Macedonia and Thessaly, from pre-midday in central and eastern Macedonia and the Sporades and from the evening in Thrace and the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean.

Winds will blow from southerly directions 3 to 5, in the seas 6 and in the Ionian temporarily locally up to 7 Beaufort, turning from the afternoon to the west to northwest up to 5 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly mainly in the west and will reach 26 to 28 degrees in the western and northern continental areas and 29 to 31 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

Weather: Increased clouds with local rains and sporadic storms initially in western Macedonia, gradually in the rest of Macedonia and from the evening in Thrace. The effects are predicted to be strong in places. In western Macedonia, a weakening of the phenomena is expected from the late afternoon.

Winds: From eastern directions 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually southerly 4 to 6 and in western and central Macedonia from northern directions 3 to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 20 to 28 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia it will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIROS, WEST STEREA, WEST PELOPONNISOS

Weather: Increased clouds with rain and sporadic thunderstorms. The effects until midday hours will be strong in places. A weakening of the phenomena is expected from the afternoon.

Winds: From south directions 4 to 6 and locally in the Ionian to 7 Beaufort and gradually northwesterly 3 to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 21 to 28 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus it will be 3 to 4 degrees lower.

EASTERN STEREA, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNISOS

Weather: Increased clouds with rain and possible storms from the midday hours. A weakening of the phenomena is expected from the evening.

Winds: South 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually 4 to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 22 to 31 degrees Celsius.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Weather: Increased clouds with rain and possible thunderstorms.

Winds: Southerly 3 to 5 Beaufort and temporary local up to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.

EAST AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANISE

Weather: Increased clouds with rain and sporadic storms in the evening hours. The effects are predicted to be strong in places.

Winds: From south directions 3 to 5 Beaufort and temporary locally in the north up to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.

THESSALY

Weather: Increased clouds with rain and sporadic thunderstorms. The effects from dawn to late afternoon are predicted to be strong in places.

Winds: East southeast 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually from western directions with the same intensity.

Temperature: From 20 to 31 degrees Celsius.

ATTICA

Weather: Increased clouds with local rains and possible storms in the midday and afternoon hours. A weakening of the phenomena is expected from the evening.

Winds: South 4 to 5 and moderate in the midday hours to 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 20 to 29 degrees Celsius.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: Increased clouds with rain and sporadic thunderstorms. The effects are predicted to be strong in places. A weakening of the phenomena is expected from the afternoon.

Winds: East 3 to 4 and gradually northwest 4 to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 20 to 27 degrees Celsius.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW WEDNESDAY 11-09-2024

In central and eastern Macedonia, the Sporades, Thrace, the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese, rain and sporadic storms are forecast which will be strong in places until midday in central and eastern Macedonia and the Sporades and until in the afternoon in Thrace and the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean. From the late afternoon the phenomena will weaken and will be limited to the eastern island country and Thrace. In the rest of the regions, unsettled weather is forecast with local rains or showers in the morning hours in the Ionian and in the afternoon and afternoon hours mainly in the continental highlands.

Visibility in the morning hours will be locally limited in the west mainly continental where fog will form.

The winds will blow in the west west northwest 3 to 5 and temporarily in the south 6 Beaufort and in the east south southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort gradually turning to the west with the same intensity.

In the rest of the country, generally clear weather is forecast with a few temporary clouds in the morning hours. Gradually in the Ionian Sea and in the western mainland the clouds will increase and there will be local rains or showers mainly in the midday and afternoon hours in the western continental highlands and the highlands of Crete.

Visibility in the morning hours will be locally limited and fog will form in the western continents.

Winds will initially blow west northwest 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the south locally 5 Beaufort turning to south southwest with the same intensity.

The temperature will rise slightly and reach 28 to 30 degrees in the west, 27 to 29 degrees in the northern continents and 29 to 31 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country.

In the west, temporarily increased clouds are predicted with local rains and sporadic storms and a weakening of the phenomena from the evening. In the rest of the regions, sparse clouds are forecast at times denser mainly in the midday and afternoon hours with local rains and isolated storms mainly in the central and northern areas.

Visibility in the morning hours will be locally limited.

Winds will blow south southwest 4 to 5 and gradually in the seas up to 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly in the west and north.

FORECAST FOR SATURDAY 14-09-2024

Initially in the west and gradually in the rest of the regions, clouds are predicted to temporarily increase with local rains and sporadic storms. Gradually the effects will fade.

Morning and evening visibility will be locally limited in the west.

Winds will blow south southwest 4 to 5 and gradually in the seas up to 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will not change appreciably.
