Leave the car in the garage for the bike? This is a great idea for your wallet, for the planet and even for your health. The two-wheeler is part of the so-called “active” forms of mobility. What therefore find at least in part the essential quota of daily physical activity.
The health recommendations are clear: every day, “for adults, it is recommended to practice 30 minutes of physical activity developing moderate to high intensity cardio-respiratory fitness, at least 5 days a week, avoiding going 2 consecutive days without practicing”recalls the Ministry of Health, on its website.
The practice of cycling responds precisely to an endurance activity with the key to a reduction in cardiovascular risks, stress, an improvement in metabolism… So less risk of obesity, hypercholesterolemia, arterial hypertension, etc. According to a study conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) between 2005 and 2008, a practitioner of up to three hours a week would see his risk of premature mortality reduced by a third compared to a non-practitioner.
With a helmet
In this context, business trips by bicycle are an excellent initiative. Especially if they let you earn that cap of 30 minutes a day.
