New arrivals welcomed
The 2021 MacBook Pro 14 is a machine designed for professionals. And to best meet its target, Apple provides this model with more generous connectivity than before. No more hassles with a hub, there are three Thunderbolt 4 ports, the MagSafe connector, an HDMI 2.0 port and an SD card reader. Admittedly, the laptop is gaining in thickness, but its format remains easily transportable and still has beautiful finishes.
On the screen side, the MacBook Pro 14 does better than its predecessors, and offers a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR screen with a definition of 3,024 x 1,964 pixels. This LCD screen backlit by Mini LED offers a high quality display. This allows it to display 1000000:1 contrast and 1000 nits brightness, with 1600 nits peaking in HDR. The icing on the cake, we are entitled to a refresh rate of 120 Hz of course adaptive. Another notable change, this iteration offers a notch, like on the iPhone, and leaves aside the TouchBar in favor of physical keys.
A powerful chip
For two years now, Intel has no longer been part of Apple’s vocabulary. After its first ARM chip, the firm started a change of processor on all of its MacBooks. Here, the MacBook Pro 14 is powered by the M1 Pro with 16GB of RAM. Apple announces 70% more performance than with the original M1. Enough to start your most ambitious projects without slowing down.
With all this, Apple promises that you will be able to compose with 30 streams in 4K ProRes on Final Cut, or 7 streams in 8K ProRes. A powerful machine whose autonomy is limited to 8 hours for light work. Keep the charger handy. On the charging side, you will have to go to the checkout to take advantage of the fast charge which refuels in 45 min once morest 2h30 without. Note that this MacBook Pro has a 512 GB SSD.
