At the request of King Charles.. Prince Harry wears a military uniform for the first time since he gave up his royal duties

London, United Kingdom (CNN)– Buckingham Palace published details of the uniforms worn by Prince William and Prince Harry at the ceremony honoring their grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, on Saturday evening, at Westminster Hall.

Wearing William, Prince of Wales, his “Blues and Royals” uniform, No. 1 uniform, Garter sash, Garter star, gold, diamond and platinum jubilee medals and wings of an RAF pilot.

Harry, Duke of Sussex, wore his “Blues and Royals” uniform, No. 1 uniform, KCVO Neck and Star Medal, Afghanistan Operational Service Medal, Gold, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee and Army Pilot Wing medals.

A royal source previously told CNN that Prince of Wales William will stand at the head of Queen Elizabeth’s coffin, and Harry, Duke of Sussex, will stand at his feet in a 15-minute pause in honor.

The source added that the two princes wore military uniforms at the request of their father, King Charles III.

Prince Harry’s wearing of the military uniform comes nearly a year and a half following he and his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, gave up their royal duties and privileges in January 2020.
