At the end of June, Chile stands out as the main destination for Paraguayan beef, absorbing 40%

Asuncion, IP Agency.- At the end of the first half of the year, the report on the volume of Paraguayan beef exports positions Chile as the main destination market for this product. In these six months, the South American country absorbed 40% of Paraguayan exports in this area.

According to the report of the National Service for Animal Health and Quality (Senacsa), Paraguay exported a total of 157,478,892 kilograms of beef at the end of the sixth month of the year. Of this total, Chile was the destination for 63,491,272 kilograms, or 40.3%.

The Chilean market remained the main export destination for Paraguayan beef throughout the semester, with a constant leadership in the market ranking. Taiwan, Brazil and Russia follow in importance with 10, 8 and 7 percent of exports, respectively.

During this semester, there was also growth in export volume for the United States market, which began the year in twelfth place in the ranking of destinations. At the end of June, the North American country was positioned for the second consecutive month as the sixth largest buyer of Paraguayan meat, with a cumulative total of 8,302,875 kilos (5.2% of total exports).

For its part, the Russian market, which had been overtaken by Israel in the ranking of export destinations, once again positioned itself in June as the fourth most important country in terms of Paraguayan beef import volume, with 12,212,951 kilos received (7.7 percent). Israel is ranked sixth with 9,756,340 kilos (6.1 percent).

Kuwait, Albania, Sierra Leone and Ghana are the countries that complete the ranking of the 10 main markets for Paraguayan beef exports.
