At the end of July: new bus routes from Lithuania to three Finnish cities Business

“Last summer, we started operations in Finland, introducing a bus route through the big cities of the Baltic countries and further along the Baltic Sea coast to Vasa. We can see that this decision has worked, there is a great interest of passengers, their number is constantly growing. In order to further expand travel options and ensure connections to various cities in Finland, we will operate new direct routes to Tampere, Joensuu and Rovaniemi. Taking into account the demand, we plan to offer more routes in the future,” says FlixBus Business Director Kamila Zalewska.

It will be possible to book a ticket to Finland at least three hours before the trip, so it will be possible to plan trips flexibly. The price of bus tickets from Lithuania (Vilnius) to Finland will start from 49.99 euros. The price of the bus trip will include boarding on the Tallink ferry between Estonia and Finland. Travelers will be able to take a bicycle with them on the bus trip.

This summer, FlixBus buses will run on three new routes: Vilnius-Pernu-Tallinn-Helsinki-Tampere, Hamburg-Pernu-Tallinn-Helsinki-Joensū and Krakow-Pernu-Tallinn-Helsinki-Rovaniemi.

Buses going to Rovaniemi in Lithuania will stop at Lazdijai, Alytus bus station, Vilnius Savanorių prospekt, bus station and Studentų street, Ukmergė bus station, Panevėžys and Saločiai.

Buses going to Tampere will depart from the Vilnius bus station, then stop at the capital’s Studentų Street and Saločiai, while buses going to Joensū will stop at Kalvarija border checkpoint, Kalvarija, Kaunas bus station, Šiauliai and Kalvii border checkpoint.

“By offering direct trips not only from Vilnius, but also from smaller cities, FlixBus makes trips more accessible to people living in the regions. In addition, it avoids the creation of an additional CO2 footprint when people do not need to travel to one point in Lithuania to leave by bus. They can choose the nearest departure station,” adds K. Zalewska.

In Finland, buses will stop in Helsinki, Tampere, Sal, Turku, Raisi, Rauma, Pori, Narpes, Vasa, Joensuu, Heinola, Oulu, Kem and Rovaniemi according to the respective routes.
