Like last year, the disco ball was out at the Hyères valley campsite this weekend, on the occasion of the second edition of the look-alike festival organized by the City of Carhaix. Following the success of premier festival, the event, free, has been rescheduled with a poster made up of lookalikes of the singer of the group Abba, Claude François, Elvis Presley and Edith Piaf. During the concerts of the latter, the public sang with enthusiasm the international hits of the 70s and 80s, like the classics of French song.
Nearly 400 people
The setting sun in the valley of Hyères, it is Karine D’Auria, in the skin of one of the singers of the group Abba, who launched the festival at the beginning of the evening on Saturday. Alone, her stage mate being in contact, but accompanied by the public who came in large numbers.
“There were nearly 400 people,” said Serge Couteller, culture assistant at Carhaix. Despite the success of the first edition, “I was surprised when I arrived and saw the number of parked cars,” confides the latter. Coming from the campsite and outside, the public was once once more there and motivated to dance to the hits of the Swedish pop group such as “Mamma Mia”.
“Reminds me of my youth”
After Madame, place for Monsieur in the second part of Saturday evening. With a voice and a physique very close to his idol Claude François, Franck D’Auria took over, accompanied on stage by two Claudettes. The costume, the style, the choreography: everything is period!
“I love it, it reminds me of my youth”, exclaims Pierrette, who came to sing the titles of “Cloclo” at the top of her lungs with a frame dedicated to the artist. The songs are timeless. Young and old, hardcore fans or not, everyone enjoyed and sang all the way to the port of Alexandria. Or until late at night at least. “The concert ended quite late and it was great, there was a crazy atmosphere,” says Franck D’Auria.
Pay homage
On Sunday, Jessy Morgan made rock dance in the skin of Elvis Presley. Despite the heat of the day, the double of the “King” for twenty-seven years has given everything, both in voice and in gesture. “At my age, Elvis has already been dead for five years,” he admits, a little “tired”, but still with the banana. For him, the main thing is “to pay homage to Elvis. And if people are happy, so am I. Mission successful for Corinne, who came from Châteauneuf-du-Faou. “I didn’t know and it’s crazy, it’s a nice surprise”, she rejoices, hoping “why not, do the same with us”.
To close the festival, Karine D’Auria this time interpreted Edith Piaf, under the watchful eye of Morgan Renaud, Renaud look-alike in the previous edition. “This year once more, people appreciated it. This shows that they need to go out, to have fun”, concludes Serge Couteller, adding that the festival “should continue”.
