Liverpool ∙ The Liverpool Malayali Cultural Association named Limka, the pride of the Liverpool Malayali community, has new management. Limca’s chairperson is Thomasukutty Francis, who has been active since the early days of Limca. This native is well known to the Malayalis in the UK.
Thomasukoti Francis is also the stalwart of the Liverpool Jawahar Boat Club, having won the Yukma and Kent Water Festivals. Thomas Philip (Tom), another native and a senior IT officer at Mersey Rail, will be Limca’s secretary for the new operational year.
One of the founders of Limca and a multi-time treasurer, Sunny Jacob, a native of Mala, was elected as the treasurer of Limca. Rani Jacob who has done excellent work was elected as Vice-Chair and Shaibi Cyriak as Joint Secretary. debut
Naya Tony Daniel is the joint treasurer. Binu Mylapra was selected as PRO. Also 12 committee members were elected for smooth functioning in the coming year.
The new management committee was formed in the presence of more than a hundred people, including new Malayalee families, in the annual general meeting presided over by LIMKA’s chairperson Thambi Jose. At the conclusion of the meeting, Chairperson-designate Thomasukutty Francis Limka presented the agenda of the new working year to the meeting. These include the New Year celebration on January 14, Limka Onam on September 9, All UK Bollywood Bonanza in October, Limka’s 20th anniversary mega event in November, Summer Family Tour and Balakalotsavam.
