The second daughter of the late Nexon founder Kim Jung-ju, NXC director, became the world’s youngest billionaire by inheriting a stake.
According to Forbes, an American economic magazine, on the 21st (local time), the second daughter of founder Kim, born in 2004, and two older sisters each inherited a 30.78% stake in NXC, which is valued at $2.5 billion (regarding 3.2 trillion won).
Forbes estimates the sisters’ inheritance tax to be over $1.5 billion each. Even following excluding inheritance tax, the net worth of the two sisters is estimated to reach $1 billion (1.4 trillion won) each.
The youngest billionaire in the past is Kevin David Lehmann, a young German who turned 20 this month. At the age of 14, he inherited a stake in the German pharmacy and cosmetics chain DM from his father, Günter Lehmann.
Forbes added that the 18-year-old founder’s second daughter took over the position as the world’s youngest billionaire.
Meanwhile, the late Kim Jeong-ju, NXC director, who founded the game company Nexon, passed away in February.
Founder Kim’s survivors include his spouse Yoo Jeong-hyeon, NXC auditor, and two daughters.
The stake in NXC, Nexon’s holding company, was 98.28%, with founder Kim himself 67.49%, Auditor Yoo 29.43%, and his two children 0.68% each. Auditor Yoo inherited 132,890 shares, increasing his stake in NXC from 29.43% to 34.00%, becoming the largest shareholder and head of Nexon.
