Samsung presented its new entry-level smartphone, the Galaxy A05s, which has a bright future.

Even before the launch of its new Galaxy S24 range, Samsung is ending the year on a high note by renewing its entry-level segment. At the same time as its new Galaxy A25, the Korean manufacturer unveiled this week its new inexpensive smartphone, the Galaxy A05s.
We are dealing here with a smartphone which incorporates the design elements of the Galaxy A25, with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) screen and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. On the upper part of the display, Samsung has once again housed a selfie camera in a waterdrop notch, and not in a punch. However, you will have to deal with an LCD screen and not with an Amoled panel as is the case on its mid-range cousin.
For photography, the Samsung Galaxy A05s has a module with three sensors on the back. The main camera has a wide-angle lens (f/1.8) coupled with a 50-megapixel sensor. We will also find two 2 megapixel sensors, for macro (f/2.4) and for portrait mode (f/2.4). For selfies, it is a 13 megapixel sensor that Samsung has housed at the top of the screen, backed by a lens opening at f/2.0. The smartphone can also record video sequences in Full HD 60 IPS, or in HD at 120 IPS.
Expandable storage, but limited connectivity
The Samsung Galaxy A05s is also equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, expandable via microSD port up to 1 TB. Samsung does not, however, communicate on the processor integrated into its smartphone and only specifies that it is This is a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. The fingerprint reader is included with a positioning on the edge, at the level of the sleep button. On the battery side, you will need to count on a 5000 mAh unit, while wireless connectivity is limited to 4G, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.

However, this should not prevent Samsung from selling its Galaxy A05s like hotcakes. Remember that the Korean manufacturer makes most of its sales in the entry and mid-range segments. In 2022 for example, the Galaxy A13 was Samsung’s best-selling phone worldwideahead of the Galaxy A03 and far ahead of the premium Galaxy S or Galaxy Z ranges.
This is explained in particular by the brand image of the Korean manufacturer, but also by the much more attractive prices of these smartphones. The Galaxy A05s is launched by Samsung at a price of 169 euros in France.
