The sporting run of the Steinbach Black Wings continues. Coach Philipp Lukas‘ ice hockey team celebrated their fourth win in a row with a 4:2 (0:0, 3:1, 1:1) win against Ljubljana in front of 3,420 visitors.
One of the match winners was defender Niklas Würschl, who had turned into a goalscorer, and who even had a chance for a hat trick (26th) after a “double” to make it 2-0 (22nd, 24th). The Slovenian team player Luka Maver increased to 3:1 (38th), Nico Feldner to 4:1 (44th). All in all, it was a confident, if not outstanding, performance with consistent defensive work.
On Sunday, Linz will host Fehervar at 3:30 p.m. It is one of four afternoon matches planned this season that are designed to be family-friendly. Children and young people up to 18 years of age enjoy free entry.
What’s next for Linz’s youth boss Robert Lukas, who was given a three-month ban by the national association because he yelled at a U15 player? The Young Steel Wings are clarifying the interim leadership internally, and Lukas himself has consulted a lawyer to explore his personal options. The dubious verdict amounts to a temporary professional ban (the OÖN reported in detail).
In addition, ongoing discussions are taking place under the direction of Black Wings President Peter Nader. Parents of the ice hockey “kids” will also be heard in the coming days.
