An explosion and then gunshots were heard outside the Turkish Aerospace Industries headquarters near the Turkish capital Ankara. Images released by NTV show a column of smoke in front of the entrance to the plant. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said that an attack on the Turkish aerospace and defense company Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (Tusas) left several people dead and injured. Yerlikaya did not provide further details about the attack. The company is located on the outskirts of the capital Ankara. According to HaberTurk television, the explosion may have been caused by a suicide bomber. Media reported that an explosion followed by gunshots was heard at the compound. Security forces, ambulances and firefighters were on site. The company’s employees, HaberTurk reported, were taken to a safe area.
