At least eight people have been injured following the explosion that left the collision of a combi and a trailer at the junction of the Trujillo jirón with the 39 block of Peru Avenuein the district of San Martin de Porres.
The incident occurred at approximately 6 in the morning where they arrived 5 fire units to attend to the emergency.
The shock wave has been so strong that it has left dozens of houses with broken glass in at least two blocks around causing great fear among the residents of this area.
According to preliminary information from the firefighters, the trailer that was going from Callao to Lima had inside at least 5 GNV cylinders while the combi did it from av. Peru was in Callao when the impact between the two vehicles occurred, causing the explosion of one of the balloons.
The commanding general of the Peruvian Volunteer Fire Department (CGBVP)Luis Ponce La Jara, indicated that around 50 houses have been affected by the shock wave. Among the injured are residents of the area and passers-by who were circulating at that time in the morning.
Some witnesses stated that there were up to three progressive explosionsone before 6 in the morning while the last one fifteen minutes later.
So far, this accident has left regarding 8 people injured who were immediately transferred to the Cayetano Heredia hospital for treatment.
The National Police of Peru (PNP) has temporarily ordered the closure of blocks 38, 39 and 40 of Peru Avenue.
