At least 48 people were killed on Friday by armed men in three communities in northwestern Nigeria, according to local authorities.
As quoted by local media on Sunday, Aminu Suleiman, a local official from Bakura, Zamfara state, confirmed the attack saying that criminals on motorbikes attacked residents of Sabon Gari Damri village.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari commended the armed forces on Sunday “for their determination to achieve positive results in line with their current operational strategy in the northwest of the country and particularly in Zamfara State”.
And to add: “We must not allow the return of the days when offenders had their hands free to do what they wanted.”
