At least 30 people were killed in an explosion at a gas station in the Russian republic of Dagestan, officials said. Another 75 people were injured in the city of Makhachkala, the state news agency TASS reported, citing the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. Five other people were injured, the Interfax agency reported on Monday evening, citing the government of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, which lies east of the Ural Mountains. A fire broke out in around a hundred square meters on the Talinskoye oil field, it said. It was initially unclear how the explosion happened.
