At least 30 people were killed and 100 injured in the attack which hit Kramatorsk railway station in eastern Ukraine on Friday morning. Hundreds of people were there to flee the area.

“Following the rocket attack on the Kramatorsk station, according to operational data, more than 30 people were killed and more than 100 injured”, announced on his Telegram channel Oleksandre Kamychin, the boss of the Ukrainian railway company Ukrzaliznytsia, denouncing a “deliberate strike”.

An AFP reporter saw the bodies in body bags of at least 20 people. Present there earlier, he had noticed that hundreds of people still hoped to find a train there to leave the city, under threat of a major Russian offensive.
