At least 29 killed in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon

At least eight were killed in an attack on Baalshmay, says Lebanon’s Ministry of Health. Earlier, an unnamed Lebanese security source said an unknown number of people had been killed in an attack on a detached house in this area, which is outside Hezbollah’s core areas.

In addition, at least two people have been killed in the Hermel region in north-east Lebanon. In the town of Joun, located south of Beirut, at least 12 people were killed.

At the same time, Israel carried out a series of airstrikes against the Hezbollah-dominated suburbs south of Beirut, two of which were the villages of Tefahta and Roumin, where at least seven people were killed. Tefahta is located around 25 kilometers from Lebanon’s border with Israel.

Tuesday’s attacks were some of the most widespread in the daytime since Israel’s defense minister said a ceasefire is out of the question until Israel has achieved its goals.

In advance, Israel announced attacks against twelve different locations. In a message on social media, residents were told that they were near Hezbollah facilities and that they had to evacuate.

On Tuesday, two Israelis were also killed in the northern city of Nahariya after rocket attacks that crossed the border from Lebanon.
