At least 28 people have died in a bus accident in southern Ethiopia. 19 other people were seriously injured in the incident in the Woylaytta region, local authorities announced on the online platform Facebook on Wednesday. The bus fell into a river after taking an exit. No further details were released. The search for possible other victims is ongoing, it said.
Photos posted online by authorities showed the bus lying in a river after it had apparently slid down a long, steep slope, and its badly damaged roof had been torn off.
