At least 18 deaths reported during Holy Week in Honduras
According to a report from Honduran authorities, 17 people, including six minors, died from immersion and another from natural causes.
At least 18 people have died so far, most of them due to drowning, during the days of Holy Week in Honduras, the National Commission for the Prevention of Mass Mobilizations (Conapremm) reported this Saturday.
According to a report from the Honduran institution, 17 people, including six minors, died from immersion and another from natural death.
Conapremm authorities report at least 39 traffic accidents, which have left more than a hundred minor injuries.
In addition, 1,568 driver’s licenses and some 159 cars have been confiscated this week for various reasons, while the Honduran Fire Department has rescued 90 people from drowning.
At least 22 people were injured with knives and four with firearms, said the Conapremm document, which details that 1,574 pre-hospital care has been provided.
The National Police of Honduras has not reported so far on how many homicides there have been this Holy Week.
The authorities announced that during Holy Week they expected more than two million people to mobilize in the Central American country.
