Specifically:

“Last day of July today and I would like to close the month with a very positive news. According to ELSTAT, unemployment in our country fell to 9.6% in June, from 10.3% in May. This is the lowest level since the corresponding month of 2009! Compared to June 2019, the drop in unemployment amounts to 8 percentage points, 9.6% from 17.5%. And at the same time we have an increase in the number of employed by 400,000″, the Prime Minister’s post states, and then Kyriakos Mitsotakis adds:

“I also want to list some more specific facts that I think have their own significance. Women’s unemployment has fallen by 2.2 points compared to June 2023, while youth unemployment has dropped by 2 points. Evidence showing that our targeted policies are having positive results.
Of course we don’t rest. We know the problems that citizens face. We know we still have a lot of work ahead of us. Our goal is convergence with Europe at all levels: wages, unemployment, quality of life. And we will continue to serve this goal.”
