[투데이에너지 조대인 기자] Gasoline prices at gas stations fell for three weeks and diesel prices for four consecutive weeks, while refinery supply prices were high for S-OIL and low for GS Caltex.

According to Korea National Oil Corporation (President Kim Dong-seop), through the weekly price trend of domestic petroleum products of Opinet, an oil price information system, the sales price of gasoline in the third week of May decreased by 21.6 won from the previous week to 1,627.4 won, a decrease for three weeks in a row, and that of diesel by 36.9 won to 1,468.7 won. It was announced that it fell for 4 consecutive weeks, and indoor kerosene showed 1,379.2 won, down 12.8 won.

By brand, thrifty gas stations were low, while GS Caltex brand gas stations were high.

The average selling price of gasoline at thrifty gas stations was low at 1,598.0 won per liter, but at 1,637.8 won at GS Caltex brand gas stations, a difference of 39.8 won.

The average selling price of diesel at thrifty gas stations was low at 1,440.2 won per liter, but at 1,481.8 won at GS Caltex branded gas stations, a difference of 41.6 won.

At SK Energy brand gas stations, gasoline was 1,632.7 won, down 22.1 won, and diesel was 1,476.3 won, down 36.9 won.

At S-OIL brand gas stations, gasoline was 1,627.5 won, down 21.6 won, and diesel was 1,462.9 won, down 37.8 won.

Gasoline sales prices by region were 1,697.2 won, down 24.2 won from the previous week, in Seoul, the most expensive region, 69.9 won higher than the national average.

Jeju-do sells gasoline at 1,650 won per liter, ranking second in the country following Seoul. Gyeongbuk 1,615 won, Incheon 1,611 won, Gwangju and Daejeon 1,610 won, Busan 1,609 won, Ulsan 1,604 won.

Gasoline sales prices in Daegu, the lowest-priced region, were 1,583.2 won, down 27.9 won from the previous week, 44.2 won lower than the national average.

In the second week of May, one week later than the selling price at gas stations, the price of petroleum products supplied by oil refineries was 1,505.2 won for gasoline, down 45.6 won from the previous week, 1,306.2 won for diesel, down 50.5 won, and 1,007.7 won for indoor kerosene, down 9.7 won.

As for the supply price by refinery, S-OIL (CEO Anwar Al Hiziaji), the highest priced oil refiner, recorded KRW 1,524.4 per liter for gasoline, a decrease of KRW 44.6 from the previous week, and KRW 1,324.0 for diesel, a decrease of KRW 44.2 per liter.

It was followed by SK Energy (CEO Cho Kyung-mok), which cut gasoline by 44.8 won to 1,511.1 won, and diesel by 54.6 won to 1,311.1 won.

HD Hyundai Oilbank (CEO Young-Min Joo) showed gasoline prices at 1,501.7 won, down 55.6 won, and diesel prices at 1,300.0 won, down 53.2 won.

GS Caltex (CEO Heo Se-hong), the lowest-priced oil company, recorded the lowest price at 1,481.7 won per liter, down 41.1 won for gasoline and 1,283.9 won for diesel, down 46.6 won from the previous week.

Meanwhile, in the third week of May, international oil prices declined due to concerns over the possibility of US default, EIA’s announcement of an increase in commercial crude oil inventories, and continued appreciation of the dollar.
