FC Barcelona were leading 2-0 in the away game once morest Cadiz when the game was suddenly interrupted by the referee ten minutes before the end. The reason: A fan has a medical problem in the stands, and doctors rush in immediately.
But the situation does not seem to have ended with that – on the contrary. After a few minutes, Cadiz goalie Jeremias Ledesma suddenly runs across the lawn. The 29-year-old has a defibrillator in his hand, which he throws onto the stands.
Fan taken to the hospital
Anxious moments meanwhile also on the pitch: Several players hold their hands in front of their faces, others watch what is happening in the stands without a word.
“The fan has a pulse once more and was taken away in an ambulance,” Cadiz President Manuel Vizcaino finally announced over a microphone. “It went back and forth, but in the end he was able to stabilize.” The game continued following almost an hour’s interruption. Barcelona eventually won 4-0 thanks to goals from de Jong, Lewandoswki, Fati and Dembélé.
