Maximilian Ritscher was not granted a great playing career. For Wolfsberger AC, the Carinthian made one short appearance in the Bundesliga once morest Salzburg in 2013 and 2014. At least in the second division there were 32 games for Kapfenberg.
At the age of 23, Ritscher had to end his active career following two cruciate ligament tears and a germ in his knee.
His advisor at the time, Jürgen Werner, guided Ritscher to LASK, where he was given the opportunity to begin his coaching career. Ritscher, who now has the UEFA A license, earned his first spurs at the academy.

The sports management graduate was promoted to junior assistant before making the jump to the LASK fighting team two years ago under then head coach Didi Kühbauer.
During the short Sageder era, Ritscher was noticed in that he was the assistant with whom the head coach consulted most often during games.
