This 3-year-old German prodigy creates abstract paintings in the workshop his parents set up for him. Last year, Lauren Schwarz discovered her passion during a family vacation. Since then, he hasn’t wanted to do anything other than paint. He uses brushes, rollers, palettes and his imagination to color the canvases but his hands and feet are also used.
Faced with his passion, his mother Lisa Schwarz posts photos of her son’s work on social networks. The Laurents Instagram account. art already has more than 90,000 subscribers.
But success isn’t limited to social media. An art gallery spots the works and it’s the start of an incredible adventure. Renowned collectors and galleries are eager to buy or exhibit his creations. Colorful mice, dinosaurs and trains have found buyers in London, Paris and even the United States. German newspapers are already nicknamed the young artist the “Mini Picasso in diapers”.
The family received more than 50,000 purchase offers for a painting called The People. His paintings sell from 14,000 euros. At the end of September, auctions reached several hundred thousand euros. “The highest offer we have received so far is from an American buyer. He offered 295,000 euros for Laurent’s first painting. But we will not sell it because it has significant emotional value for us”explains Lisa Schwartz. “Last week, one of his works was sold for 50,000 euros.”
This little prodigy has already sold his works for several hundred thousand. The money is deposited into an account in their name and blocked until they reach the age of majority.
