As part of the annual CES exhibition, ASUS announced a lot of interesting new products, including gaming laptops ROG Strix with 18-inch screens and more compact hybrid laptops ROG Flow. Along with this, the new ROG Rapture GT-BE98 gaming router with Wi-Fi 7 support and a number of other noteworthy features was introduced to the general public.
The ROG Rapture GT-BE98 router is equipped with eight antennas. It is the world’s first quad-band Wi-Fi 7 gaming router. It takes advantage of Wi-Fi 7, such as 320MHz channel support in the 6GHz band, for 160% faster data transfer than previous generation routers. The 6 GHz channel provides data transfer rates up to 11.5 Gb / s, but when using 4K QAM modulation, the speed can increase to 25 Gb / s.
Support for Multi-Link Operation and Multi-RU Puncturing functions is noted, which provide a more efficient and reliable wireless connection. When using the multichannel mode, data is transmitted in different ranges and channels, due to which the throughput of the device increases, and the level of delays in the transmission of information decreases. Proprietary RangeBoost Plus technology improves signal stability and coverage, which can be important for people living in large houses.
The Rapture GT-BE98 features one 10Gb/s WAN/LAN port, two 10Gb/s LAN ports, four Gigabit Ethernet ports, and USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 interfaces. The configuration is complemented by 2 GB of RAM and a 256 MB drive. The cost of the new router was not announced.
