ASUS ROG Phone 8 has support for wireless charging confirmed in certification

With a launch expected to take place next Monday, the ASUS ROG Phone 8 line underwent new certification where it was possible to discover that the devices must have support for wireless charging.

According to data contained in the Indian BIS, the smartphone carrying the number “AI2401” can be recharged at wireless mode at a maximum speed of 12W.

Although it is not as high a number as on other Chinese smartphones, wireless charging can be very useful in everyday life.

It is also necessary to remember that this year’s devices must come out of the box with support for 65W wired recharging, in addition to a battery in the range of 5,000 mAh.

As for the other specifications, it is important to remember that the ROG Phone 8 must use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, be offered with up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage and also deliver IP68 certification.

New leaked renders show ASUS’s new ROG Phone 8 Pro in detail and with a variety of angles. The new leak confirms that this smartphone will please many users in the gaming smartphone sector.

From an aesthetic point of view, the device stands out for its futuristic look, similar to other products in the ROG family. To the customizable RGB LED lights on the back they stand out in particular, but the rest of the design can be defined as classic for premium gaming smartphones with thin bezels and a large flat screen.

On the bottom side of the device, there are two USB Type-C ports for charging and accessories dedicated to games, which is also another peculiarity of the family. There will also be a 3.5mm jack for connecting headphones and microphones.

The smartphone offers a 6.78″ display at 165 Hz with AMOLED LTPO technology and HDR10 support. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with up to 24GB of RAM. Furthermore, according to rumors, the 5,500 mAh battery will support 65 W fast charging and be water and dust resistant to the IP68 standard.

Information regarding the photographic setup has not yet been revealed.

The device should be announced on January 16th, but it might also make a debut at CES 2024, between January 9th and 12th. The launch in Europe should take place in the coming months, but there is no forecast at the moment.
