Asus headset ROG Fusion II 500 can be used anywhere
The Asus ROG Fusion II 500 headset is said to offer comprehensive connectivity. And indeed, the gaming headset can be connected to both the computer and current consoles using the included USB-C cable and a USB-A adapter:
Also the headset is from Asus compatible with Mac and mobile devices. Of course, the Fusion II 500 also offers the analog 3.5 millimeter jack.
The Fusion II 500 does that well
In addition to universal compatibility, the Asus headset also has other features that are quite practical and work well in the test. Special functions such as an additional volume control especially for voice chat in the game make everyday life easier for gamers. The voice chats of the teammates can be prioritized and adjusted via the controller. Of course, pulsating LED lighting in rainbow colors should not be missing.
Practical: The Fusion II 500 does not need a protruding microphone. Because that Gaming-Headset captures the voice via pickups integrated directly in the housing. They filter out distracting background noise from other directions. The Asus headset reproduces the in-game sound with a rich 7.1 surround boom, which can also be switched to stereo at the push of a button.
Open the notebook and immerse yourself in breathtaking 3D game worlds? This is only possible with these 5 gaming notebooks.
Asus headset tested with weaknesses
The extensive compatibility, the voice chat volume control and the integrated pickups are definitely among the strengths of the Asus headset. The fact that there is no protruding microphone might certainly also increase the freedom of movement – if it weren’t for a rather bulky device with very protruding earpieces. And while the in-game sound is correct with powerful tones, the voice reproduction is a bit meager: What the gaming headset records sounds quite dull in the test and has little substance. This can be done better!
Success across the board: The Razer Huntsman leaves nothing to be desired. The test shows what makes the keyboard so special.
Conclusion
The Asus Fusion II 500 headset wants to make everyone happy, but it can only convince in the test with the sound reproduction and the extras in use: The microphone quality and the general wearing comfort leave a lot to be desired.
- PRO
- Protruding microphone design, decent 7.1 surround sound.
- AGAINST
- Very clunky, cheap feel, voice sounds hollow and flat.
