ASUS announces sustainability goals in its operations for up to 2025

This week, the ASUS announced some sustainable goals that the company wants to achieve in its operations in the coming years. The brand intends to expand the use of environmentally friendly materials in its products and packaging by 100% by 2025.

Additionally, ASUS has committed to adopting modular design to reduce waste and recycle at least 20% of products globally. The brand’s ecological practices range from the manufacture of notebooks and also include use and disposal.


Another point mentioned by ASUS is that the materials purchased from its suppliers are also obtained responsibly. The brand wants 100% of its main global partners to meet the highest information security standards by 2025.

According to the company, the goals are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to contribute positively to society and the environment. ASUS also gave an overview of what has already been done in the area.


According to the manufacturer, since 2017, more than 1,500 tons of post-consumer recycled plastic have been used in its products. In 2022, more than 20 thousand tons of recycled paper were incorporated into device packaging.

By 2035, ASUS has committed to using 100% renewable energy and still wants to increase the energy efficiency of its products by 30%. Furthermore, the company seeks to reduce the carbon emissions of its main suppliers by 30%.

Notebook recycling was also highlighted. ASUS said it offers this service in 30 countries to ensure that components used in laptop production have a second life or are disposed of properly.

Finally, the brand stated that it also encourages its customers to adopt more sustainable habits, such as adjusting screen brightness settings and using dark themes, all to optimize energy consumption and reduce the carbon footprint.
