Asunción, IP Agency.-For the first time, the Paraguayan capital hosts the General Assembly of Panam Sports, the parent entity of Olympic sports throughout the American continent.
At the opening of the event, the Minister of Sports, César Ramírez, spoke, who highlighted the importance of the activity.
“We are at a crucial moment for sport in Paraguay, since in just under a year we will host the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games, an event that will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy in our society,” he recalled.
He emphasized that “Asunción is preparing with dedication and enthusiasm to receive the athletes, families, coaches and spectators who will participate in the 2025 Junior Pan American Games.
“Our goal is to offer an unforgettable experience and ensure that every detail is thought out to guarantee the success of this great event,” added Ramírez.
“I want to reaffirm the commitment of the government of Paraguay to sport, not only as a tool of competitiveness, but also as an instrument of social transformation. “We firmly believe in the power of sport to inspire, unite and create opportunities for all,” he concluded.
The event has the notable presence of the president of Panam Sports, Neven Ilic, the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach, authorities from the 41 member countries and representatives of the Pan American Confederations of various sports disciplines.
The event has great relevance to define strategies and advance the organization of this great sporting event, the Asu 2025 Junior Pan American Games, which will put our country at the center of international attention.
Likewise, the conclave of sports leaders will decide in elections the authorities who will be in charge of the Pan American Sports Organization in the next quadrennium.
