Astronomy: a parade of 5 planets not to be missed this evening

These five planets with a star cluster will be visible in the sky on Monday, shortly following sunset.

A parade by order

An extraordinary astronomical event is expected on Monday with a celestial ballet. Five planets will appear in order: Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Mars et Uranus.
As related TF1the famous star cluster M35 will also participate in this parade without forgetting the first crescent moon which will join the others.

Difficult to distinguish Mercury and Jupiter

The two stars Mercure et Jupiter will appear regarding twenty minutes following sunset. Due to the twilight, it will be difficult to distinguish them with the naked eye. The use of an optical aid, including binoculars, is therefore recommended to observe them for nearly 30 minutes.
On his side, Venus will appear an hour following sunset and the planet will appear higher in the sky. It will be visible until midnight. As for Marsit will be at the top left of the moon during this celestial parade.

And the star cluster M35?

After spotting Mars, it is necessary to move the eyes still a little to the left to distinguish the star cluster M35, which is in the constellation of Gemini. The ballet will close with Uranus which will be barely visible to the naked eye. So it will be necessary to bring binoculars and take the planet Venus as a benchmark, sinceUranus will indeed be at the top left.
Several applications might be of great help in exploring the sky. Among others, we can cite “Ciel et Espace – Le +” (Android and iOS), “Heavens-Above” (Android) or even “Star Walk” (Android and iOS).
