Aston Villa Arsenal – result and review of the match of the 2nd round of the Premier League – Sport

Arsenal Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko won a victory over “Aston Villa” in the match of the 2nd round of the English Premier League (EPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the “Villa Park” stadium in Birmingham ended with a score of 0:2.

In the first half, the teams did not manage to change the score on the scoreboard. In the middle of the second half of the meeting, Mikel Arteta’s wards took the lead – Leandro Trossard struck a precise shot in the 67th minute.

In the 77th minute, the Gunners consolidated their advantage in the score – Thomas Partey scored a goal after a pass made by Bukayo Saka. Unai Emery’s wards could not answer.

Note that Zinchenko spent the entire match on the bench. Yurrien Timber started in the position of left defender, who was replaced by Riccardo Calafiori in the 80th minute.

For “Arsenal” this is the second consecutive victory at the start of the new EPL season, in the first round of the London club won “Wolverhampton” with a score of 2:0. “Harmashi” with 6 points occupies the third position in the tournament table of the English championship.

Aston Villa suffered their first defeat of the season. The Lions are in 12th place in the Premier League with three points to their credit.

In the third round of the Premier League, “Arsenal” will host “Brighton”, and “Aston Villa” will meet “Leicester” on the road. Both matches will take place on August 31.
