ASTANA, Kazakhstan (ots / PRNewswire) – The Astana Opera, in collaboration with the Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), presented the social aid project “Children and Art”. This initiative is intended to support children from families in difficult life situations and children from orphanages in Kazakhstan promote their development of an aesthetic perception of the world as well as the creative abilities of gifted children.

The Astana Opera implements the tasks of the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Information to promote and preserve the culture of our country. The theater is also dedicated to service projects by organizing performances for orphans, children with disabilities and extended families, and offering theater classes for school children and other events.

The Children and Art project is part of the theater’s charitable work, in which young people are introduced to art and children learn cultural values.

This project was organized for children of families from socially disadvantaged groups living in regions and cities important to the country. The organizers covered all expenses for travel, accommodation and meals. About 600 children from 17 regions and 3 major cities of Kazakhstan attended the Astana Opera. They were shown around the backstage areas, took part in theater classes and master classes in the children’s studio, met the creative staff, attended productions and got to know Astana.

The organizers of the project received a lot of positive feedback from the children and the teachers who accompanied them. The first encounter with the mysterious and fabulous world of theater, visits to the sights of the capital, gifts, delicious snacks and entertainment organized with the support of ERG were an unforgettable experience for the children.

The documentary Children and Art tells regarding this charitable work and the importance of cultural education and support for children from all regions of Kazakhstan. Astana Opera not only helps people in need, but also inspires others to follow its example. The theater has posted a QR code on its website that allows visitors to find a list of orphanages and social organizations that would appreciate support.

For Astana Opera, the year 2023 was full of significant events: Petite Mort by Kylián, La Sylphide by Løvenskiold, L’Italiana in Algeri by Rossini, Jolanthe by Tchaikovsky and Puss in Boots by Cui were added to the repertoire and the first graduation at the international Astana Opera Opera Academy was celebrated.
