The objective is to assess the organization, the implementation as well as the results of the campaign for possible improvements for future campaigns.

It also involves sharing the results of the campaign by department, highlighting the summary of achievements, challenges and lessons learned and recommendations by department and for the entire campaign, validating the campaign data by department and globally as well as write the report of the workshop.

The free mass campaign of insecticide-treated mosquito nets throughout the country was officially launched in Pointe-Noire last August by the government in partnership with the Global Fund through Catholic relief services.

The goal was to provide at least 90% of households with impregnated mosquito nets and to ensure that they slept under these mosquito nets, ie 6,064,531 people to be protected from mosquito bites.

The financing obtained by the Congolese government from the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to fight against malaria ranges from the period of 2021 to 2023

The workshop brings together from August 17 to 20 experts from different departments of the country. The work was opened by the director of primary health care, Dr. Martin Mabiala.

He recalled in his opening speech that malaria remains a real public health problem. Indeed, he continues, all sections of the population are exposed to the risk of contracting this disease, children under five, pregnant women and the most vulnerable layers.

“Malaria is the first cause of consultations with 59% of cases, the first cause of hospitalization with 64.8% and the first cause of mortality with 18.4%; the situation is even more dramatic in children under five years old with 28% of deaths according to the report of the National Malaria Control Program 2022”, he indicated.
