Unknown people attacked two Orthodox church buildings, a synagogue and a transit level within the cities of Derbent and Makhachkala within the area of Dagestan, Russian republic of the Caucasus. Three folks had been killed and 16 injured in these assaults. The area is predominantly Muslim, in response to the regional division of the Ministry of the Inside.

The investigative directorate of the Investigative Committee in Dagestan has initiated legal instances for terrorist assaults in relation to the assaults in each Dagestan cities.
The day on which the assaults in opposition to the church buildings occurred coincided with the celebration of Pentecost by the Russian Orthodox.
