An assault was recorded inside the Antara square located in the Miguel Hidalgo mayor’s office, Mexico City (CDMX), on Monday, June 26, followingnoon. First versions detailed that a shooting also broke out, but the capital’s Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) denied that firearm shots were fired.
Authorities indicated that it was an assault on the Berger store, dedicated to the sale of exclusive brands, located inside the shopping center located on Ejército Nacional Mexicano avenue, Granada neighborhood. The mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, Mauricio Tabe, explained that they took 15 high-end watches.
Videos circulating on social networks show three people attacking the jewelry store windows with sledgehammers, while another person apparently armed with a gun keeps watch. All wore face masks and caps.

Witnesses interviewed by TV hole They said that the thieves threatened people with a firearm to keep them away from the store and following breaking windows and completing the theft of the pieces they escaped on two motorcycles.
So far there is no official balance of people arrested for the attempted robbery in Antara square, and the authorities have been insistent that there was no shooting.
“The Miguel Hidalgo Mayor’s Office reports on the attempted assault in Plaza Antara: there are NO people injured, the authorities and our Blindar MH security team are already in the area to do what is necessary. Stay informed through official channels,” the mayor’s office reported through its social networks.
The head of the SSC, Omar García Harfuch, said that the security force inside the square is being investigated because it took time to give the notice.
“There were 22 private security people, it is a well-located square (…) We are going to review what happened, what time the report arrived at 911,” he said in an interview with TV hole.
The local official said that the amount of the robbery is not yet known.
