Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Update 1.6.1 Coming September 27th

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been a huge game since its release in 2020, but Ubisoft isn’t done with it yet as it will receive another major content update on September 27 with the 1.6.1 update. Update 1.6.1 is likely one of the last major content releases for Valhalla, but the developers are making sure players have something to do for some time, as it is supposed to continue one of last year’s storylines.

In particular, the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla 1.6.1 update includes a direct sequel to last year’s Tombs of the Fallen expansion and a potentially meta-defining new Ravensthorpe building, allowing players to optimize their runes however they see fit. The update will also serve as a platform for the Osscorea Festival, where players can participate in unique limited-time events, earn rewards, and more.

Ubisoft previously provided some information regarding the new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla expansion, and it looks like the long-awaited Rune Forge will be available as part of the 1.6.1 update. Details are still quite scarce, of course, but it seems to go without saying that the building will allow players to fine-tune their rune sets for late-game progression.

As the hype around Assassin’s Creed Mirage slowly builds up, it looks like Ubisoft might be looking to wrap up the franchise’s Scandinavian saga for now. In fact, with the Osscorea festival kicking off October 20th, the game is unlikely to receive any major updates in the interim, and while Ubisoft has yet to confirm if this is the case, update 1.6.1 might very well be one of the last additions to Valhalla content.
