Nearly a month following showing off some of its future plans, which are slated for release later this year like Avatar, Ubisoft is hitting the headlines once more with a rumor that will likely catch the eye of fans. fans of the Assassin’s Creed saga. Because yes, it is once once more a question of the license for which the projects do not end up hatching within French society.

Which is by no means surprising. As we said recently, Ubisoft seems to have found the ideal remedy to be able to get out of the abyss in which it has been plunged for some time. To avoid any failure (with financial loss), the French publisher has found refuge in a safe bet, or at least, in a value he considers safe. Assassin’s Creed are still very popular with the public. This is evidenced by the latest episode which has notably succeeded in winning the hearts of new players.

Betting ( once more) on piracy

Result: it seems that we are moving once more towards an annual release rate for the next episodes of the saga. In any case, the rumors support such an orientation. In addition to the already confirmed Hexe and Red projects, there would also be other titles in production. Which, if confirmed, will tend to be rather worrying. One of the reasons that one might allege is the fatigue that all this might cause. And then, there is this question: by privileging the quantity would we not forget to work on the quality?

To avoid this, Ubisoft would have decided to alternate experiences. Multiplayer will follow single player and vice versa. And even, it would even seem that we want to capitalize on the memories of some nostalgic players by exploiting one of the entries most appreciated by fans: the so-called Black Flag originally released in 2013. my city is certain. According to information that seems to come from “reliable sources”, the game which then attacked the world of piracy would indeed benefit from a remake. Not only should it come with a graphic overhaul (obviously), but also a completely redesigned game system, including naval battles. How ? No information was provided.

However, one cannot help but think of Skull & Bones. There is indeed a good chance that the teams of Ubisoft Singapore, who would therefore take over the new version of theAssassin’s Creed Black Flag, rely on their new multiplayer pirate game to rethink the formula, if not more. Like, for example, starting from this title announced for ages (in 2017) to pass it under the banner of the Assassins. Which would be a return to basics, given that it had originally been thought of as a DLC for the fourth installment in the franchise.

But apparently that would not be the case. The two projects would have two different fates. Logical, since they do not have the same objectives, Skull & Bones being thought of as a service game. Besides, it should be released long before this so-called new version, which is apparently only in its infancy and would, in fact, still have several years to go before it appears. This should not be the case for the famous Skull & Bones, for which Ubisoft seems to be working hard, even if it means encroaching somewhat on the rights of its employees.

Still according to Kotaku, to whom we would have sent the informative elements by means of an email, the development would indeed require more work for all the teams concerned, and this, in particular to soon deliver the closed beta of the game as soon as possible. time limit. For when ? We ignore it. Since its last postponement, the game has been very discreet, not even having appeared during Ubisoft’s last public release. An absence that still suggests some difficulties…
