Ubisoft was eight months away from officially announcing Assassin’s Creed Mirage when Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed that the game originally spoiled its existence as an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This will obviously make many question the title’s price tag, so it’s no surprise that details were left out in the marketing campaign… until now. As part of Game Informer’s latest cover story, Assassin’s Creed Mirage creative director Stephane Boudon confirmed that the game is supposed to be DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, bringing Eivor to the Middle East. The pitch was so popular that Ubisoft decided to make it a stand-alone game: “It’s interesting because we did all the work for the DLC promotion, but at the end, we’ve seen that working on the pitch might be , so at the end we ended the demo with “but it might be more”. So we pushed a little bit and it worked, great for everyone.
