Assassin’s Creed makes its presence felt at the Olympic Opening Ceremony

Citizens, tourists, athletes and other people from all over the world witnessed the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (OOG), one of the most important sporting events of the year, where to kick off the competitions, it was possible to see the Lady Gaga show along with the presence of other world-class personalities.

However, video game lovers who attended the event were able to notice the presence of a hooded character, who caught everyone’s attention, being nothing more and nothing less than an incredible reference to Assassin’s Creed, the iconic title developed by Ubisoft, a French video game developer.

As seen in the video, a hooded man was seen in a pure Assassin’s Creed-style chase after “stealing” the Olympic torch through iconic Parisian places such as the Notre-Dame cathedral and the Seine River.

In case you didn’t understand this Olympic reference, the event was actually referencing Assassin’s Creed: Unity, an open-world video game developed by Ubisoft and released in 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Its story tells the story of Arno, a young man who embarks on an incredible journey in search of the truth behind the French Revolution, where the player and his friends will be able to fight together in the midst of chaos to decide the fate of France at that time, being the first game in the franchise to have multiplayer features.

Of course, video game lovers did not wait to publish this reference to Assassin’s Creed during the Olympics, including the game itself. Official game account on X
