Assassin’s Creed celebrates its fifteenth anniversary. And despite the age, the license has not finished surprising us. During Ubisoft Forward, the studio announced a particularly ambitious free-to-play mobile game.
Assassin’s Creed in China
If the fans might rejoice in the face of the announcement ofAssassin’s Creed Codename Red which will finally take them to Japan, Ubisoft has another surprise in store for them. Asia is big and offers many different places to explore, such as China. The latter will be honored through a mobile game which should arrive soon according to the Ubisoft Forward teaser (visible above). Enough to make fans of Asian culture wait until Assassin’s Creed Codename Red.
Note that this is not the first time that the Assassin’s Creed universe has attacked China. With its Assassin’s Creed Chronicles side game series, players have already been able to experience 16th century China as Shao Jun. A priori, the proposed period should be very different since we are told regarding a title taking place during ancient China, in 215 BC. Another difference: the game will be a particularly ambitious AAA open world, much different in structure and gameplay apart from Chronicles.

Un free-to-play mobile ambitieux
For a mobile title and moreover free-to-play, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade looks particularly daring. We are indeed promised an open-world designed for tactile gameplay, while incorporating the usual mechanics of the license. We should therefore find parkour, secrets to discover, intense combat and assassinations. But that’s not all. The mobile title intends to bring its stone to the building and will therefore include a notable feature.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade will indeed emphasize customization. Admittedly, this is true of the latest Assassin’s Creed but with Jade, Ubisoft will take a step forward. We can indeed create our own assassin, a first for the license. Note that this is not the only Assassin’s Creed mobile game planned, since the partnership with Netflix will allow Ubisoft to give birth another title which will be exclusive to the platform. For the moment, we have no information on the latter, but we know that it will be accompanied by Unknown Soldiers 2 and the sequel to The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot.
