A man, originally from Beaumont and born in 1989, was hit by a shot from a hunting weapon following an altercation that started a few meters further on in a parking lot…According to the first elements available to the prosecution of Charleroi, who descended on the spot, the victim first insulted the alleged perpetrator and a friend to the latter. “The two men were drinking a beer in a car parked in a parking lot. The victim, also in the car, arrived at the height of the vehicle and arrested the passenger friend, reproaching him for the messages sent to his companion”, details the prosecution. . Besides the friend, the suspect was also taken to task by the victim. “She approached the driver’s side and also blamed messages sent to his girlfriend during the summer. According to the driver, the victim then attacked him through the open window of the passenger compartment, before an exchange of blows a time he was outside the car. “Hit in the face by a gunshotThe scene of violence might have come to a definitive end, when the alleged perpetrator and his friend left the scene. But exceeded by the remarks and insults, the passenger then got out of the car. “The suspect also went downstairs and went to his trunk to retrieve a hunting weapon he had collected earlier in the day to go hunting the next morning.” The versions differ regarding the sequence of events. The victim and two people with her indicate that the alleged perpetrator aimed three times with his weapon, before firing. “The suspect confirmed to him that he took his weapon to scare the victim and loaded the weapon with a single cartridge.” The life of the victim, hit by a single shot, is in danger. The loss of an eye is not excluded. The shooter, from Momignies and one year older than the victim, swears not to have targeted anyone. “According to him, the victim was injured following a ricochet when he fired on the side,” says Sandrine Vairon, Charleroi division prosecutor. Arrested and deprived of freedom, the man was heard for the first time and will be presented to an investigating judge. A case for attempted murder is under investigation. “He is already known for some history and for recent facts in a threat file. He seems to present a certain instability as soon as he consumes alcohol and also makes use of several purchased firearms in his garden.” A first duty of investigation is already planned, to determine whether or not the arrested man was under the influence of the drink when he fired.
